This mas (a traditional Provençal farmhouse) takes its name from the Mediterranean tree known as the hackberry, a species typical of the region. The mas was built during the Renaissance, in a rural and agricultural setting. At the time, such farms were commonly used for growing crops, raising livestock, and cultivating vineyards — all essential to the livelihood of local communities.

Le Mas des Micocouliers has witnessed various historical eras, each shaped by the agricultural, social, and economic transformations of the region. Like many other farms in Provence, it once served as a vineyard estate before being gradually modernized over the years.
